“UN Habitat Youth Fund” gives grant to Child Foundation

The UN Habitat Youth Fund grant for $25,000 will fund a technology schoolprogram for 650 youth ages 19-25 in the poor regions of Mazar-e-sharif,Afghanistan. Students participating in this program will learn basic computerskills and how to use internet resources. These skills will greatly increasetheir opportunity for future success. A small office building has been purchasedin Mazar-e-sharif which will provide space for the classes, as well as the ChildFoundation office in Afghanistan.  

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all.
