U.S. accuses Iran’s government of hypocrisy

WASHINGTON Feb 17 (Reuters) – The United States on Thursday accused Iran’s government of hypocrisy for, on the one hand, welcoming the protests in Egypt but, on the other hand, repressing protesters at home.

Iran’s stance toward events in Egypt has been “extraordinarily hypocritical,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said. (Writing by Caren Bohan; Editing by Vicki Allen)
