Iranian women caught with drugs

SHAH ALAM: A burqa-attired Iranian woman was found smuggling drugs worth RM350,000 at the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) in Sepang last week.

The 44-year-old suspect, who arrived on Thursday on a direct flight from Teheran, was behaving suspiciously at the arrival hall and when police checked her, they found five packets of syabu (methamphetamine) stashed in her altered waist belt.

Previously, drug mules from Iran had been caught smuggling drugs in altered luggage compartments, underwear and even drug-soaked clothing.

Selangor police narcotics investigation department deputy chief Supt Abd Razak Md Zin said initial investigations revealed the Iranian woman was a single mother with four children and was on her second visit to Malaysia
