A former Scotland Yard commander accused of corruption over a scuffle in a restaurant will stand trial later this year. Ali Dizaei, 48, appeared in court today to deny charges of misconduct in a public office and perverting the course of justice. His trial, on a date to be fixed, is expected to last up to six weeks. The prosecution follows an investigation by officials from the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
