Iran men’s karate komite team on Sunday overpowered the Chinese team 3-0 to win the gold medal of the 11th Asian Karate contests currently underway in Guangzhou, China.
The gold medalists for Iran, Zabihollah Pourshib, Saeed Farrokhi and Ebrahim Hasanbeigi defeated their Chinese rivals 8-0, 2-0 and 4-1 to grab the gold medal for Iran.
The Iranian team had earlier defeated Jordanian and Kazakh teams.
Iranian female athletes in the final contests got a bronze medal.
In the meantime, Iranian female team ranked second in Kata category.
Some 33 countries are competing in the games that began on Thursday.
