How Many Actual Members (i.e., Current Members) Does NIAC Have?
On his resume, Trita Parsi had reportedly written that NIAC had 10,000 members. The 10,000 appears to be in contradiction to the numbers in NIAC’s own documents.
In February 2008, Trita Parsi reported to the NIAC board that they had 1068 current (i.e., dues paying) members. For some reason, NIAC uses the term members to include former members who no longer pay dues. There were 902 in the category of “expired” membership.
In the following article, S. Jahromi writes: “However, during his testimony in May 2011 and under oath Parsi confessed that 43,000 is really NIAC’s mailing list. The real membership was only around 1,000 members.”
