Indefinite military detention of Americans became the law of the land Saturday, as President Barack Obama signed a defense bill that codified that authority, even as he said he would not use it.
“President Obama’s action today is a blight on his legacy because he will forever be known as the president who signed indefinite detention without charge or trial into law,” said Anthony Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union.
Obama has not brought the change that voters were looking for in 2008. He won’t bring us that change if he’s re-elected in 2012, either. Obama has continued and expanded George W. Bush’s attack on the Constitution, and there’s no reason to believe that he’s going to change his ways. There is no difference between him and the Republican candidates with the exception of Ron Paul ….. I am not a Republican but I do not mind to vote for Ron Paul … I certainly hope for Obama to be kicked out of the office. He has betrayed his voters especially all those young college kids who voted for him ..
