No political movement relating to Iran that has relied on the support or sponsorship of the U.S. or that has based itself in the U.S. can or will have any role in shaping Iran’s future because the U.S. nexus will render such a movement illegitimate given that the U.S. deliberately created, financed, armed, trained and brought the Taliban to power in Afghanistan (with the Saudi’s assistance); and then, the U.S. let the Taliban run wild for many years, while the Taliban caused unspeakable atrocities to civilians and even caused damage to Iran through many negative side-effects, including (among other things) drug smuggling, arms traffic, and millions of war refugees.  Does anyone expect the public to believe that the CIA, the U.S. President, and both Houses of the U.S. Congress had no idea what the Taliban was doing for all those years?    (1) Political movements with a nexus to the U.S. :    This clearly means that any movement with a U.S. nexus will never be acceptable to the Iranian people, and that includes everything from the Rajavi movement (MEK) to Reza Pahlavi – They are all non-starters.  (Note: The point is not intended to judge Reza Pahlavi’s father or grandfather – it simply makes a categorical point.  Reza Pahlavi is in the U.S. and draws his support from there.  Iran requires home-grown leaders free from foreign pressure and influence.  My personal opinion is that Reza Khan did a great service to Iran by bringing about the downfall of the Qajars, but his grandson springs from a different and unacceptable context.)   (2) Human Rights:   The Taliban – a CIA pet program – and all of the massacres and rights abuses they committed automatically renders suspect all drivel about human rights emanating from the U.S. Government. Human rights is a subject that is fair to be concerned about, but can you believe that a government or nation that brought you the Taliban and put them in power has the audacity to pontificate about human rights and lecture others?  It would be comical if it weren’t so tragically true.    (3) U.S. Government Media:    Why don’t the programs ‘Parazit,’ VOA, or Radio Liberty / RFE (all of which are U.S. Government owned media outlets) feature stories about America’s direct and longtime sponsorship of a genocidal terror organization or the U.S. practice of meddling in the political affairs of other nations if they really care about the free flow of truthful information?  Shakhsiat-e bad of the highest magnitude is the U.S. role in creating, supporting the Taliban and letting them run wild for years.  Let’s see them make a Parazit show on that subject and beam it into Tehran.    (4) Democracy, Freedom & the U.S. Government:   The U.S. cares about “democracy,” “freedom,” and “liberty,” right?  The next time any U.S. government official makes such statements about “democracy,” ask that the coked-out Arab Sheikhs with their fleet of diamond encrusted Mercedes cars that rule Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and multitude of other longtime U.S. “friends-&-allies” are present for the U.S. speech on these “important standards and values.”  The fact remains that concepts like “democracy” and “human rights” – when uttered or sponsored by the U.S. – are nothing more than manipulative and hollow rhetoric for securing America’s foreign policy objectives and lining the pockets of its elite. The U.S. has no issues in propping-up tyrants and autocrats when it makes Americans better off.    Videos requested:   All videos showing Maryam Rajavi, Reza Pahlavi, or any member of a political movement that seeks a leadership position in Iran speaking-out about the U.S. role in bringing the Taliban to power are encouraged; Please put the video link in the comments section and show us what these candidates for leadership positions have said about the U.S. role with the Taliban.  If such speeches don’t exist – particularly in light of the fact that the Taliban has had direct and harmful effects on Iran – one has to wonder why.  Ms. Rajavi, Mr. Pahlavi, You want to lead a country but weren’t willing to speak out about the U.S. bringing terror and drugs to your nation’s border?  Really?
*  The people of Afghanistan, are also of Iranic origin, speak a common language, and share other Iranian traditions.  Before that territory was named “Afghanistan” it was Iran’s province of Greater Khorasan, which the British took by force from Iran during the Qajar era.
