According to the Al Arabiya website, Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani, a Shi’ite cleric based in the Iranian city of Qom, has issued a death sentence against rap artist Shahin Najafi for the lyrics of his new song called “Naqi”.
There is a translation of these lyrics on this website with plenty of useful explanations.
The following is my translation. I hope you’d like it.
Naqi (*)
By Shahin Najafi
Translation: Azadeh Azad
Naqi, I swear to you on your wit
On the outside the ring in exile
On life’s large penis
That sits behind us with threat.
Naqi, I swear to you on the length and width of sanction
On the increasing dollar’s worth and degradation.
Naqi, I swear on the cardboard Imam [Khomeini]
On the baby stuck in the womb, calling Ali [Khamenei]
On Sharia law course in the nose operation room
I swear on the Mullah, rosary and Chinese prayer rug.
Naqi, I swear to you on the finger of Sheys Rezaei [a fingering footballer]
On a religion that is out and religious football.
Hey Naqi, now that Hidden Mahdi is asleep, we call for you, hey Naqi
Resurrect, we’re ready in our shrouds, hey Naqi. (Refrain)
Naqi, I swear to you on love and Viagra
On the legs in the air and Chakra
I swear to you on bread, chicken, meant and fish
On silicone breast and striped virginity hymen.
Naqi, I swear to you on Golshifteh’s boobs
On the honour we did not have.
Naqi, I swear to you on Aryan race
On its necklace that is hung to the neck.
Naqi, please, I swear to you on Farnoud’s wee-wee
Three thousand billion embezzlement once upon a time
Like Persian Gulf and Orumieh lake were just stories
So what was the name of the Green Movement’s leader?
Hey Naqi, now that Hidden Mahdi is asleep, we call for you, hey Naqi
Resurrect, we’re ready in our shrouds, hey Naqi. (Refrain)
Hey Naqi, hey Naqi, hey Naqi,
Hey Naqi, hey Naqi, hey Naq,
On the farty demise of the Ummat’s Imam
On the fossil politicians in exile
On the classy widows of disco place
On intellectual debates in the chatrooms
On the honour of dubious shady men
On women defenders of men’s rights
On the colour revolution seen on TV
On the three percent reading population.
I swear to you on bland and hollow slogans
Naghi, I swear on this shifting flocks of people
They say “Lng live” in the morning and “Death to” at night
On the heroes of fictional stories.
Hey Naqi, now that Hidden Mahdi is asleep, we call for you, hey Naq,
Resurrect, we’re ready in our shrouds, hey Naqi. (Refrain)
Hey Naqi, hey Naqi, hey Naqi,
Hey Naqi, hey Naqi, hey Naqi,
Oh Naqi!
