Images Emerge Of Iran Military Chief Soleimani In Syria

Pictures have emerged of the Commander of the Quds Force affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, General Qasem Soleimani, in Abu Kamal, Syria.

The images were published by the Iraqi Harakat Hezbollah Al-Nujaba militia group, with the Long War Journal reporting that they had been taken on November 14, 2017 according to the group.

Earlier this month, a photo of Soleimani allegedly near T-2 pumping station, an area in southern Deir Ezzor province that has served as launching pad for offensive toward Al Bukamal, circulated on social media, but that is unconfirmed.

According to the site, the images were released as Iran, Russia and Turkey are preparing to hold a meeting to follow up on their joint operations to complete control over eastern Syria with the help of the Lebanese Hezbollah militias, along with Afghan Fatemiyoun brigades which are funded and used by Tehran.

“His presence underscores the importance of the offensive in eastern Syria,” Long War Journal reported.
