Israel tried to assassinate Iranian Professor, Mohsen Fakhrzadeh Mahabadi described as the brain that runs Tehran’s nuclear program, Israeli Walla news site reported.
The site said on Tuesday evening that it had obtained the information from former foreign intelligence services officials who did not give their names.
According to the site, a number of Iranian scientists who were assassinated or assassination attempts were made on their lives several years ago were killed or wounded by members of the Israeli Mossad who drove motorcycles and pasted adhesive explosives on these scientists cars.
The site quoted the foreign intelligence officials as saying that Fakhrzadeh was on Israel’s list of targets, but did not mention the reasons for not moving forward in that scheme.
The United Nations describes Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi as a senior Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics scientist and former head of the Physics Research Center (PHRC).
Fakhrzadeh is the only person mentioned by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu at his press conference two days ago, in which he revealed alleged documents claiming they prove that Tehran continued to develop its military nuclear capabilities despite signing an agreement with the major powers three years ago.
