“Mother, I’m Joseph” Wins Silver Palm At Mexican Festival

“Mother, I’m Joseph” by Iranian director Mohammadreza Fartusi has won the 2018 Silver Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival, the organizers have announced.

The film was competing in the Narrative Feature Competition section and the winners were announced on May 21.

“Mother, I’m Joseph” is a co-production of Iran, Iraq and Kuwait based on true story that is set in Iraq during the 1980s. Joseph escapes from Saddam’s agents because he doesn’t want to fight in the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.

The Grand Jury Award was given to “Love Cecy” by American director Jay Francisco Lopez.
