The red candy

Holding the sweet, red candy up to my burning eyes,
I'm eager to bite it all in a blink of every eye.
This is, you know, a prize my mom gave it to me
For being such a good boy that one could've ever been.
I did the dos, undid the wrongs;
I'm now ready to enjoy the results.
With all the miseries, I'm now through.
Looking at my sweet candy, now, I know
Dreams do come true.

Giving my candy the last look,
I put it in my mouth for good.
The red candy is suspiciously too bittersweet – though.
Artificially colored, and flavored
Nothing natural – though.
