The pages below are interviews with prominent government critics and poltical activists in Iran: Ibrahim Yazdi, leader of the Freedom Movement of Iran (Nehzat-e Azaadi-ye Iran); Heshmatollah Tabarzadi, editor of the radical student newsletter Payam-e Daneshjou (Students' Message); and Habibollah Payman, leader of the disbanded Combatant Muslims Movement (Jonbesh-e Mosalmanan-e Mobaarez). All three were recently arrested and/or summoned to court for their criticism of the state and senior officials. The interviews were published in the Noruz 1377 (March 1998) issue of the news magazine, Payam-e Emrooz (Today's Message), in Iran.
