Armed & Innocent
A documentary by Roya Hakakian (2002), 18 minutes
Thursday June 17, 2004 10:00 PM

A finalist at the 2002 Hollywood Movie Awards, "Armed & Innocent" focuses on child soldiers. Denied a childhood and often subjected to horrific violence, some 300,000 children are serving as soldiers in current armed conflicts. Narrated by Robert DeNiro, "Armed & Innocent" is a compelling documentary that shares the personal experiences of the children who have been direct participants in war. Their stories of courage, along with the artwork of former child soldiers collected from around the world, invite the viewer into a world of violence no child should ever experience.
