The Trial of Golesorkhi & Daneshian
Iranian state TV (1973), 48 minutes
Monday June 14, 2004 9:45 PM

In the late winter of 1973, Iran's security forces arrested a group of leftist writers and poets for allegedly plotting to kill members of the Pahlavi royal family. The subsequent trial was aired on national television with the hope that the people would see the defenents as traitors [See: "The red rose"]. But Khosrow Golesorkhi and Karamatollh Daneshian's statements in their own defense turned them into instant heroes for many among the young generation. NOTE: This film is a very poor copy.
