child photoSince the beginning of December, 1996, when I first wrote an article for THE IRANIAN about needy children in Iran, the response has been overwhelming. I have received many replies asking for more information about these children, how to help, how to make donations, both monetary and non-monetary.

child photoI have already collected close to $1,000 in cash which I will be sending to these families just in time for Noruz. There have been several requests by various people to get more of these letters and to set up an "information center" in Iran so that people can contact these children either directly or through their own friends and families back home.

Child photoMy contact in Isfahan, who is already handling the distribution of all the donations, will be the primary point of contact and source of information about the families of these and other needy children. It's remarkable what the Internet can do these days! By clicking a button, we can get informed about a child in need and give her or him our support.

child photoI am very excited, but not surprised, to receive this level of interest to help these kids who are being deprived of their childhood. This enthusiasm will allow us to move forward and raise the public awareness about this undeniable problem in Iran. These children need stable, continued support for a healthy development. And your help will make a big difference.

child photoPlease remember, my main objective is to make us aware of these children and their cry for help. Fortunately, there are many ways and many organizations through which we can all do our share. I am simply hoping to be another source of information for those who do decide that they can, and want to, make a difference in these children's lives.

child photoIf you need more information on anything I have mentioned above, please contact me and I'll do my best to get you what you need. I can also give you the address and phone number of my contact in Iran so you, or your relatives in Iran, can directly contact him if necessary. If you haven't had a chance to read these letters, take a few minutes to look them over by clicking on the image of the children in this page. I'm sure they will touch your heart the same way they did mine.
