His story our story
Not everyone has the gift of expressing their inner self and true feelings
and certainly not everyone can observe and notice their surroundings.
There are some who can do these never losing your attention and interest.
Their details are general enough for you to feel them and their stories
are broad enough to include your experiences.
Hossein Samiei's story of the night of leaving Iran is his story and
ours ["The
mirror and the book"]. The details are a bit different, but the
setting and the feelings are so recognizable.
Once more, I was thinking how protective and how supportive all those
rituals are and how much they give us a sense of security in facing the
reality.
Leaving Iran and those who we love is never easy. It takes a mirror
and a book to take our attention away from the experience!
