Mohammad Reza Shajarian (vocals), Hossein Alizadeh (tar), Kayhan Kalhor (kamancheh) and Homayoun Shajarian (tonbak and vocals) performed magnificently during their European and North American tour in 2000 and 2001. The title is from a poem by the late Mehdi Akhavan Sales. Also see Yari Ostovany's review.
Few musicians in any genre balance tradition and innovation with as much expressive grace as Kayhan Kalhor. An internationally acclaimed virtuoso on the kamancheh, Kalhor has studied and performed with Iran's greatest masters of Persian classical music. The following are excerpts from the "Scattering Stars Like Dust" CD, with Pejman Hadadi on tombak.
