At 44, the 6ft 2in red-head, noted for her 150-plus IQ, has become
engaged to Dr Reza Jarrahy, 29, a Beverly Hills neurosurgeon. Davis, who
won the best supporting actor Oscar for her performance as a dog trainer
in The Accidental Tourist, said recently that it "would be nice"
to have a family. She said: "Having a baby is very much on the programme."
A fine arts graduate of Boston University, she married a restaurateur,
Richard Emmolo, when she was 24 but the relationship lasted only two years.
A part in The Fly led to her marriage to Jeff Goldblum, who played the
title role. This marriage lasted three years, until Goldblum moved in with
actress Laura Dern and Davis married Dern's boyfriend, Renny Harlin, the
Finnish director of the action blockbusters Die Hard II and Cliffhanger.
Davis and Harlin created the expensive pirate extravaganza Cut-throat
Island together, but it failed at the box office. The couple split up amicably
in 1997 after four years together.
