BAGHDAD, Iraq, April 1 (UPI) -- Iraq says it has found the bodies of
1,000 soldiers who were killed in an area in southern Iraq that witnessed

the Gulf War victims, said today that the panel located the bodies in the
Shalamja region in southern Iraq.
Al-Douri said the bodies of 463 Iraqi officers and soldiers as well
as the remains of 385 Iranian servicemen have been identified after checking
their clothes, helmets, military medals and official identification cards.
