One of many Muslim hard-line clerics leads tens of thousands of people
during a rally outside Tehran University Wednesday, July 14, 1999. The
rally countered six days of pro-reform demonstrations and was staged to
show solidarity with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country's supreme leader.
The unrest began when police stormed the University's dormitory on Friday.
