Platt at a gathering in Washington (March 17, 2000) during which Nejad
Hosseinian and U.S. Secretary of State Medeleine Albright gave speeches
on Iran-U.S. relations. Pelletreau was a U.S. assistant secretary of state
from 1994 to 1997 and Platt served as a U.S. ambassador in several countries.
This is the first known photograph of an active senior Iranian diplomat
with former top-level U.S. officials.
