Unidentified Iranian youths, one wearing a T-shirt showing a picture of
legendary Iranian singer Googoosh, in the city of Shiraz some 556 miles
(895 kilometers) south of Tehran, Saturday, July 1, 2000. Googoosh's Saturday
concert at Toronto's Air Canada Center was her first public appearance
since Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution banned women from singing or dancing
before audiences that included men. Iranian fans are anxiously waiting
for tapes and CDs to be imported illegally into Iran to hear her latest
works.
