last Saturday when protesters rioted, because their candidate did not win
in Iran's crucial legislative elections on Friday. Reformists who have
promised increased social and political freedoms have been sweeping the
polls and look set to dominate the parliament for the first time since
Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution brought Shiite Muslim clergy to power.
