TEHRAN, IRAN - Iranian women stand under an election poster February 2
issued by the non-governmental-organisation, the Islamic Assembly of Women,
encouraging women to take part in the February 18, parliamentary elections.
About 10 percent of potential candidates, including many liberal reformers
and dissidents, have been barred from the February 18 elections by the
Guardian Council, an election oversight body which vets candidates.
