Before beginning practice, Iran's national basketball team applaud their
coach, Gary LeMoine, right, the first American citizen to be officialy
hired by the Iranian government in more than two decades, in Tehran Monday,
July 17, 2000. "I appreciate Iranian warm hospitality. I'm here to
help improve Iran's national basketball team and get good results,"
LeMoine said. He hopes his presence in Iran will lead greater to sport
and cultural contacts between Iran and the United States.
