Reformist cleric Mohsen Kadivar, a leading theoritician of Iran's Islamic
modernist movement, poses at his home the day after he was released from
prison, July 17. Kadivar was released July 16 after serving an 18 month
jail sentence for political and religious dissent. However, the hardline
Special Court for Clergy has prepared a new indictment against the popular
seminary lecturer and confidant of moderate President Mohammad Khatami.
