Beneath the Iran's national flag, Iranian President Mohammad Khatami
delivers a speech at the House of Representatives plenary hall at the Diet
in Tokyo Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000. Khatami, on his four-day official visit
to Japan, said that dialogue among the world's civilizations at all levels
is crucial for regional and international peace and stability. It was the
first official trip by an Iranian leader to the country in 42 years.
