BBC WORLD SERVICE The BBC Persian Service broadcasts daily to Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan and has an expanding online service bbcpersian.com with over 20 milllion page impressions per month. Our output includes news and current affairs; social, cultural and entertainment issues. We are currently looking for reporters to be based in Washington. You’ll provide expert and authoritative coverage of news and current affairs events in and affecting the United States. You will also report, write, translate, edit and adapt material for broadcast in Farsi/Dari on the Persian/Pashto Service output and for publication on bbcpersian.com With Persian as your first or equivalent language you’ll also have a full comprehension of English and a thorough familiarity with the United States. You’ll also have an in-depth understanding of international affairs and close familiarity with Iranian and regional politics and the needs of our target audience. Experience as journalist/broadcaster or reporter in a relevant journalistic environment with proven translation skills is also essential. You should also have strong IT skills and the ability to type in Persian as well as a good microphone voice is essential.
