Artists Embassy International (AEI) presents world renowned Iranian pianist Novin Afrouz in a performance celebrating the 200th anniversary of Franz Schubert at St. Agnes Church in San Francisco (1025 Masonic Ave, between Oak and Page) on Sunday, October 19, 1997 at 1:30 pm.

Novin Afrouz has performed for heads of state around the world. She has been associated with the International Music Festival in Lugano, Switzerland, for many years where she holds master classes and serves as member of the jury for the international music competition. She is also a member of the Academia Universalle in Switzerland.
Most recently, her public performance in Iran was the first by a woman since the 1979 revolution.
In 1987, Ms. Afrouz performed in China with Peking and Shanghai orchestras at the invitation of Madame Chiu-En-Lai. She was awarded the Albert Einstein Peace Award for music in 1984 and the Artists Embassy International Art of Peace Award in 1986.
The talented Ms. Afrouz is also an acclaimed poet and member of the International Academy of Poets at Cambridge. Her book of poetry "Hope for Peace" was published in England., "Dew of Peace" in Japan and "Reflexes" in Belgium. She is a member of Poets Laureate International and was its host-president at its 1988 congress held in Milan, Italy.
Performing on the program with Ms. Afrouz will be Natica Angilly's Poetic Dance Theater Company with Poets Laureate Man and Woman of Letters Richard Angilly and May Rudge fresh from their triumphant performance in England. This unique company performs only to poetry and travels world wide to perform by special request at international events.
