* Caspian Sea states should keep outsiders out: Khatami
TEHRAN, May 11 (AFP) - The Caspian rim states should cooperate to promote
stability in the area, and not allow any foreign power to become involved,
Iranian President Mohammad Khatami said Thursday in a speech reported by
the official IRNA news agency. "The Caspian Sea belongs to the five
countries bordering on it," he told naval cadets in the northern city
of Noshahr, adding that Iran wanted friendship and peace with all the Caspian

DUBAI, May 12 (AFP) - Iran's drilling operations in an offshore gas
field subject to rival claims by Tehran, Riyadh and Kuwait amount to "stealing",
Emirati newspapers charged Friday, adding that regional relations with
Tehran should be reviewed. "The three Emirati islands occupid by
Iran are not the only territories that Tehran is looking to usurp. It has

* Iran to award Darkhovin oil field deal in summer
TEHRAN, May 6 (Reuters) - Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said on
Saturday he believed Italian energy giant Eni was the frontrunner to win
a contract to develop Iran's huge Darkhovin oil field to be awarded soon.
Asked if Eni was the favourite for the contract to be awarded by early
summer, Zanganeh told reporters on the sidelines of a petrochemicals conference:

* Iran says moving closer to buy-back awards
TEHRAN, May 7 (Reuters) - Iran is close to completing negotiations with
foreign firms on several oil and gas field developments, although key state
bodies still need to approve the contracts, a senior Iranian official said
on Sunday. Deputy Oil Minister Mehdi Hosseini told Reuters the oil and
gas field projects which could soon be awarded included South Pars, Salman,
