* Iran says six-month non-oil exports down seven pct
TEHRAN, Dec 24 (Reuters) - Iran's non-oil exports, which Tehran has
been trying to boost to counter a fall in its oil income, fell seven percent
in the six months to September 22, figures released on Thursday showed.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted a report by Iran's customs as saying
the exports amounted to $1.3 billion in the six-month period, down seven

TEHRAN, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Iran's parliament on Wednesday passed a law
that will provide foreign investment guarantees as part of an attempt to
jump start the economy, which has been badly hit by the slump in oil prices.
Deputies approved the cabinet bill under which Iran's government pledges
to refund foreign investments in Iranian free trade zones in case of state

Iran plans to find financing for a $500 million grain purchase from the
United States that would be the biggest agricultural sale of the year,
a principal in the proposed deal said this week. "They're coming up
with the financing. From our perspective, it's a cash deal," said
Richard Bliss, a Washington attorney and president of Niki Trading Co.,
a newly formed firm that is seeking a license to complete the transaction

investment in agriculture, saying ``alarm bells were ringing'' in the sector,
in remarks published on Wednesday. ``We have to ask why the rate of investment
in agriculture has been falling, while the sector is 99 percent private,''

has drilled about 900 oil wells on its territory since the 1979 Islamic
revolution, the National Iranian Oil Drilling Company (NIODC) said here
