The revenge of Khanoom Javid
This is a my mother in the National Iranian Oil Company's
General Office in Abadan, on the northern tip of the Persian Gulf, around
Norooz, 1971. She was the editor/writer of the English-language newsletter,
Mash'al Abadan (Mantle of Abadan?). She was creative and published
more than just oil industry figures and PR photos.
One day she featured the fire department and published
a photo of fire fighters posing casually in or on or by the side of
a fire engine. Oil company bureaucrats were shocked! The photo promoted
"lack of discipline" among public workers, she was told. That
and other "outrageous" features eventually led to her removal.
Well mom,
Thirty years later, iranian.com is sweet revenge.
Thank you for all your love and support and INSPIRATION.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day and jaaye maaro too Espania khaali

Love,
Jahanshah
PS: I can hear you say, "Skip the taarof.
Just publish my articles
on time. I'm your MOTHER!"
