Comment on Let My Daughter See Her Sick Father, Pleads Narges Mohammadi’s Mother by Ashianeh https://iranian.com/2018/09/13/let-my-daughter-see-her-sick-father-pleads-narges-mohammadis-mother/#comment-4380 Thu, 13 Sep 2018 22:19:03 +0000 https://iranian.com/?p=305416#comment-4380 Narges Mohammadi’s only crime was her words. Why should any human being be detained in worst condition because of talking about injustice, repression and torture? Despotic regimes never learn from history. Having no popular support they are even afraid of their own shadows. To save their shaky and corrupt power basis they resort to any means to silence their critics.

I say thank God for the islamic republic of hell, now the Persians can see what they lost under islam.

Comment on Iran vs America: The History Of Scars Behind This Long-Running Conflict by Sohrab https://iranian.com/2018/08/31/iran-america-history-of-conflict/#comment-4371 Thu, 06 Sep 2018 07:18:59 +0000 https://iranian.com/?p=304591#comment-4371 I believe Iranian people have a very complex relationships with their monarchy and religion. Outside interference is only a small part of this complex and disturbing inter-relation. Monarchism is again very popular in Iran today. What happened during Mossadeq is only an episode among many where Iranians got rid of their king and tried to restore them to the throne again with or without outside help.

Comment on Are Iranian Women Amongst the most Disloyal, Self Centered Women in the World? by al festal https://iranian.com/2009/02/09/are-iranian-women-amongst-the-most-disloyal-self-centered-women-in-the-world/#comment-4369 Mon, 03 Sep 2018 13:12:07 +0000 https://iranian.com/2009/02/09/are-iranian-women-amongst-the-most-disloyal-self-centered-women-in-the-world/#comment-4369 I went on here just to see whether a forum could discuss this in an intelligent objective manner and thanks to Arjaag for doing so. The heart rules the mind. I am a Brit , well educated successful and generally soft kind and unassuming – i dont do bling flashiness or drawn to the type of girls who do. Anyway story goes , I was in Iran a few years ago 2014 to be precise and stayed at a hotel. I got to know the staff quite well , one in particular, and we started writing to each other after I left . I asked if she would like to meet in Istanbul so I arranged a flight laid out ground rules , separate rooms etc and just go out whilst there as she had never left the country . She asked if I could help her so I said I would try. I assumed that she would be somewhat conservative living in Iran so I took her shopping food a few drinks (she drank I dont) nothing major . Would hold my arm etc but nothing happened.

I am kind of independent and never chase or flirt with women . Am focused on career my family and a part time Phd. She on the other hand went back to her hotel job which she eventually left and went without work,

So went back to our respective homes. I asked if she would come back to southern Turkey for 5 days. She agreed same boundaries – separate rooms etc. We went out I paid for most things – they were not extravagant or lavish but we ate in decent places went paragliding things she never dreamed of doing or could in Iran. Half way through the break she and I cuddled not much more, i mean that, then she froze said she wanted to go home . I did not know why and asked why she came out to meet me again as we had been writing daily . So i set about out adjusting her return flight and told her to meet me in the foyer so i could give her the details. She then said she would stay until the end of the holiday. It created an immediate chill but she would still want to be taken shopping and go out etc. At that point I should have said goodbye at the airport but i was not in her economic or personal shoes.

I asked for reasons as to the thaw , as she said she missed me etc but would never once understand why I was sad and upset. So my life rolled on she would enquire about how to get out of Iran She would state she had no money the hotel job was paying crap et. But in the course of a few years she could cover herself in tattoos and taken up chain smoking. I stayed frustrated as to what she wanted – her answer was that old chestnut ‘friendship’. i.e Keep you on the boil but offer nothing. i genuinely and truly liked her . She would occasionally ask for cash for a room as she could not live with her family etc and said she would need almost 5k usd for deposits rent. i am a softie but not an idiot.

So roll on 2018. She has a catering job in the UAE in an Iranian restaurant and took a small amount of saving over. she asked if i could help so i sent a small sum over to pay for a few item t settle in as she rom shares with another Iranian girls. I went over to meet her – her exact words she was really happy that i did . Repeat same – she wanted to go shopping -iKea Zara Perfumes Victorias Secrets etc. We ate out and i scheduled a week out here even though i loathe the UAE. She earns about 600 USD a month but has more tattoos and upped the smoking rate. I absolutely loath smoking – it killed my dad but she as an more educated generation should know better. She asked when I came over if i could bring usual stuff perfumes etc etc . In one day i must have spent 2 months of her monthly salary on her. At the same time i have had to sort out a friends CV from

I flew over on Saturday last and its now Monday- yesterday I had to zombify myself in a damn mall whilst she shopped. Went to Trader Vics and had some food and drinks- i wanted to explore the place but she said she wanted to go back to the accommodation block change take and hide all the shopping and go out for more drinks. When we got to the bar she decided not to and then wanted Mcdonalds By this time I was getting fed up. Not one sign of affection and i just kept my distance.
It is now monday and she said to go out- I am in the hotel and thinking why.. tonight she is meeting her close friend who lives and works here and her husband who lives in another male building (absurd). She said that i as her friend am here meeting her and she tells her friend everything – i asked if the friend who is not Iranian knew was told how long she knew me and that we had gone away together etc etc – answer was no. i flew from UK to see her and funny enough not invited to join them for cakes drinks etc tonight with someone she sees all the time. She also had me draft a cv for her friend so he can come to work in Iran.

So i drove her back at 0100 this am and as she got out of the car and she gave me a f***ing limp handshake. not a friendly hug or thank you for a good day out. Her additional items i brought from UK are with me- part of me says i am tempted to just take them home or just give them to her. She has also been somewhat callous in her comments and even when i told her i was upset she did not seem to care. I have not come from a rich family but we all worked damned hard through school a good uni to get where i am. i never asked anyone for anything and helped when i could with my parents values. But i never ever took financial advantage of peoples feelings towards you – yes granted she does not have the security I have and will take what she can but i have become everything i never thought i could, but i get nothing back no affection , signals, nothing and i really now have to question the integrity and indifference of this person.

She should know what she is doing and I need to cut my losses as I think give her the stuff and just go away. i dont feel i need to give an explanation as i have gone to the wall enough times asking whys etc.. I dislike the UAE anyway and how it treats poorer migrant workers unlike expats..

Leave all her additional stuff at the hotel for her to pick up and end all communication asap and drive to stunning Mussandam ? BTW I am not Iranian but my grandparents were. i just dont think this is healthy and if this is a start what will this person turn into.
