Ph.D. Candidate, Yale University

Shabnam Rahimi-Golkhandan is a doctoral candidate in Yale University’s Department of Art History. She works on the 19th-century intersection of painting and photography in Iran and the Caucasus. Her forthcoming dissertation is tentatively titled On the Tyranny of Verisimilitude: a revisionist history of 19th-century art of Iran.
