Iranian Cuisine & Culture

“You have to taste a culture to understand it.”
Explore the cuisines and cultures of the world right from our farm kitchen. The Global Plate is a new culinary series bringing in food educators from far and wide to share their stories and recipes. We will celebrate the flavors unique to different regions of the world through the ultimate connector, food.
In this workshop, we will explore the flavors, cuisines and stories of Iran with our educators, Farah Kashef and Michelle Buchan. We will make three recipes distinct to Iranian culture…
– Persian Basmati Rice with Tahdeeg
– Bademjoon Khoresh
– Persian Salad
While we make these recipes, we will also learn about the customs surrounding these foods… Persian hospitality, taarof, the idea of Koresh, “hot” vs. “cold” foods, and more. We will end with a tasting of the dishes we created in class. Attendees will be provided with recipes, to take home and continue to enjoy the stories and flavors of Iran.

Time: 1 – 4pm(ish)
Cost: $50 per person (includes materials & applicable taxes)
Recommended Age: 18 years+

Please register by June 10th, 2017. If the class minimum is not met, a refund may be issued in lieu of this class offering. You will be alerted shortly after the registration deadline if a refund is being issued. All materials will be provided in class.
Cancellations occurring after June 10th, 2017 will be subject to forfeiture of registration costs.
