Mohsen Namjoo – “Rhythm in Persian Poetry” (U. Of Washington)

Iranian artist, songwriter, singer, music scholar and performer Mohsen Namjoo will examine the rhythms used to compose and recite traditional Persian poetry, the structure of rhythms and beats inside the poetry itself, and present examples from his own work demonstrating how his use of rhythms when singing classical Persian poetry deviates from this standard.
Please note: This talk will be presented in Persian with English translation.
