There are those who claim that the 1979 event was in fact a people's revolution and not a plan by foreign powers to bring Iran down. They don't agree that Shah was becoming a serious threat to certain Western corporations and was therefore removed from his position by such corporations, using a fake revolution. These individuals believe that the event was in fact a people's revolution (whatever that means) but that it was then "hijacked" by some.
Well, I can tell you one thing. When a movement has no head (leader), no organization/accountability/clear goal/strategy/plan, etc, it will be VERY easy to hijack it. Currently, anybody all the way from Rajavi to Mousavi claim that they are Green. "Peaceful" demonstration is Green. Setting garbage on fire in the streets is also Green. Some psychotic "Kurd" separatists murdering some mullah are also calling themselves Green. Even Israel and BBC claim that they are Green. Nothing is stopping them from doing so. Since it is not clear what Green is, anybody could do anything and call it Green. No responsibility whatsoever.
So, this cartoon is very precise and accurate. It is not supporting anything or any regime. It is just making a point that Green today is full of junk.
I'm sure that Iraj was there 31 years ago. But he's an ideological kamikaze and is blinded to all other thoughts than what advanced that ideology. And the talking point thought coming down from IRI central these days is that everyone who is opposed to the IRI is either a foreign agent or is being duped by foreign agents. So, that's what the guy has to go by. Don;t blame him too much. He's just programed this way.
I fully agree with Azadeh where she notes:"Khamenei and Ahmadi-Nejad can harm no one without the full collaboration of hundreds of "Iraj"s." Just the other day I was talking to this person who claimed that people who go to demonstrations against government in Iran are drug addicts. I was so upset with him and so disappointed and all I could think was:"here is another loser who is defending murderous regime and spreading lies".
By the way, Shifteh jan, keep up the good work. Your blogs to keep us informed about what happens with movement in Iran are excellent.
Your hate for the Green Movement comes through each and every time, so good on you for your consistency in showing your sentiments. In doing so, however, and with all due respect, you sound just like Hossein Shariatmadari does in Kayhan, and all of those IRIB presenters and "khodi" analysts like Dr. Mohammad Marandi. Yeah, the Green Movement is nothing but bimbos, idiots, and foreign-supported protesters, as you have been portraying since this summer. Are you feeling any better now? I sincerely hope so, because bitter is, well, bitter.
It sez it all. This cartoon is neither defending IRI nor attacking the Green movement as such. It is addressing the problem of the movement in coordinating its activities by mouth pieces of states (BBC, VOA, etc). They are not at all interested in a piecefull outcome for reforms in Iran.
further more I attribute his work either to his love for the "Islamic Paradise" or as I mentioned before is due to the lack of conscience on his part, I believe latter is the case.
I agree with you. However, we are not living in the future, yet. My "Stop defending the rape of Iranian people" is a response to this individua's total lack of social conscience, and his ordering Iranian people to stop fighting a fascist, military dictatorship! Khamenei and Ahmadi-Nejad can harm no one without the full collaboration of hundreds of "Iraj"s. I think in a context where we are at war with this type of individuals, speaking of their "rights" is a bit misplaced.
In Democratic Iranian society of tomorrow even Iraj has a right to say what he will, no matter how much he is belittling his own struggling people. His issue is the lack of conscience!
Stop defending the rape & murder of Iranian people!

Brilliant!

If only Iraj had been around 31 years ago...to warn us about the junk Mr. Khomenie and the BBC were feeding us!
If only Iraj had been around our body and soul would have been infected by the poison of the IRI.
