BBC: Two Americans jailed for spying in Iran will be released in two days, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has told US media. Shane Bauer and Joshua Fattal were imprisoned for eight years last month. The pair, in custody since their arrest in July 2009, had claimed they strayed into Iran accidentally while hiking near the border. An Iranian judge told the BBC he would release the men on payment of $500,000 (£316,000) bail each >>>

Interesting clip DK
by ghalam-doon on Wed Sep 14, 2011 04:51 AM PDTOh, how generous and considerate he is toward the people of his country. He does not even sleep at night worrying about them. How lucky we are to have such a president!
Looks like American networks have decided to do public relations for Mr. AN, showing his "human" side with his all encompassing message for the humanity!
No doubt there is some element of truth in what's shown in this clip, however it seems the whole idea of "one day in the life of Mr. AN" was done with the cooperation of the authorities around Mr. AN. It could very well be shown on Iranian TV as some sort of propaganda for the regime.
Ahmadinejad didn't say "in a couple of days",,,
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Tue Sep 13, 2011 10:16 PM PDT,,, he said, "fekr mekonam hameen rooz-ha aazaad beshan", or to say it in Farsi in a complete sentence, he said: "man fekr mekonam oon-ha hameen rooz-ha aazaad beshevand." Translation, "I think they will be freed one of these days." If Ahmadinejad wanted to say, "They will be freed in a couple of days," he would have said, "fekr mekonam dar yeki do rooz-a aayandeh aazaad beshan." There is a difference.
Ahmadinejad is saying, "hammen rooz-ha," because he is hoping for a prison exchange, meaning "one of these days," when we have a deal they will be freed. That's what I think. The deal might be as early as tomorrow, or who knows when.
Then I don't know how the translator translated Ann's question, "a couple of days" from English to Farsi, but Ahmadinejad answers, "Yes, God willing, they will be freed." Well, that doesn't mean they will be freed in a couple of days.
Ann looks very fashionable!
