I hope for this act to result in a large group of ommat-e-Islam jumping off a cliff in sheer horror and disgust.  If we were so lucky...

As much as I want to remain unbiased some post are really offensive. In particular the drug one and the one about being violated. No sir, she is not violated you are. Your Islamic mind is not able to handle a woman body.

I guess if you have an Islamic mind nothing will change it. After 30 years in the West still the same old persons. This is why we need a new generation or maybe several new ones. It will take that amount of time before we come out of barbarism.

Still I am glad people are in the West; not for them but their offspring. Now the next generation has a chance to be free of the bonds of Islam. Open mind and individual freedom; unknown in Islam.

I think this is a good idea that known women in the Middle East go nude in solidarity with the Egyptian girl.

Everyone in Iran likes and knows Golshifteh so they'll know this is a now a movement against darkness that they should know about.  Women in the Middle East are demanding their equal rights and good for them.   Iranian women have fought hard and deserve more.

More power to Golshifteh!

Everything is sacred

Post here say

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

more about the point of view of the poster than the woman. Not that I am criticizing anyone. But that a person views things from their own point of view. Do you find it degrading or not.

If you think of it as dirty then it is degrading to you. If you do not then it is not. Regarding the woman it is based on her own perception. There is also a factor dictated by society. That is how society oppresses people and imposes its rules.

My point is there is nothing wrong with nudity. It is how people think of it. There are some cultures where nudity is perfectly normal. Others it is fine under some conditions like beaches but not at work. I find nothing wrong with it anywhere.

The other picture is nicer

by Anahid Hojjati on

the one she has her blouse half on is more natural and her beauty shines more and her look on her face is better too. It is interesting that with all the increasing tensions and threat of war and economy sinking and all issues, IRI people still want to comment about Golshifteh. She is not in Iran any more and she will never go back until there is a government that is not bothered by Golshifteh's poses and films. By the way, she is into music too.

What is wrong with some of you people?

by Ensan on

If someone is exprerssing him or herself any way they want to, as long as it is not harming you, it is NOT your god damn concern. All that backwarded stupid comments about how you did not expect this from an Iranian woman and so on and so forth is just a bull crap. Just becasue a person is Iranian, he/she does not have to follow certain criteria based on a bunch of nonsensical believes. Move your brain from your testicles to your cranial cavity. Grow up!!!

ghalam-doon

The worst pose

by ghalam-doon on

Out of all the pictures on this site, she has the worst pose and shows most skin.

Remember the story of kalaagh and kabk?

Brave? I don't know. Perhaps. But the other side of the coin is that perhaps this lady is running out of money and she wants to be in the news once again. Those juicy acting contracts did not materialize.

Remember those nude photos of passe actors in PlayBoy? They were out of the game and out of desperation decided to pose nude for that magazine.

P.S.: If you want to see the good stuff, check this one.

 //www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueBOgOs4zMQ&feature=player_embedded

See none of the ladies in this clip appears topless, except our very own. Can one be even prouder!

As I said before, it's the story of kalaagh and kabk once again.

LOL!

.....AND I may add

by Kooshan on

This is definitely not going to get the publicity that the Egyptian girl received globally.

Not even in Iranian minds!

Kooshan

This is all cliche!

by Kooshan on

I read someplace sometime ago someone calling her KHOD-SHIFTEH and I believe that certainly may not be far from truth.

It is her choice and I have no problem with it. However, this seems to be her character: To stay in the new and make a point for self-indulgence!

There has been many Iranieh Aseel ladies who did notcross the line as drawn by Iranian Concience but she did. You can name many such as Leila foroohar and others.

I think she is looking for a venue to be a big star.

EVERYONE

by amirkabear4u on

why are you all so surprised. First she said all Iranians lie in Iran to live and now this.

At one time she admired the IRI just to get into cinema when she was younger NOW she has discovered a new approach to fast fame.

I think she probably will get into porno even then I will not be surprised.

Very Well Put!

by G. Rahmanian on

"Every time you see a naked woman or a nude picture you recall your mom and sister, and worry about how you would feel if they were naked?  as though they never were in some form? Or imagining it, is the pre-requisite so your emotions are duplicated? and requirement of proof if one does not feel like you do?"

Souri

Okay , my bad

by Souri on

The title of this news at facebook was :

Golshifteh's nude pictures in solidarity with the Egyptian girl!

I am really sorry that I took it for the truth, while it isn't about this, at all! This is how we can be mislead by the cybernet !

I will remove that part of my comment which was exactly the copy of my comment at facebook. The rest, remains the same as my true opinion on that subject.

G. Rahmanian

The Hands!

by G. Rahmanian on

I tend to agree with Ari regarding the photographer's emphasis on Shifteh's hands. Her "emaciated" look adds to the innocece Mr. Mondino had perhaps intended to show.

As for why "nude?" That's for her to decide what to do with her body. Personally, while I can regard Shifteh's decision to go "nude" as her harmless right, I have come to despise  entities who sell their minds and souls to the criminal regime in Tehran for little bits of handouts.

Roozbeh_Gilani

I'd second Oktaby's great comment....

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

If it was not for the fact that the opinions of a couple of oghdehi  fossiles who have the ertejaa in their genes and not as the result of that calamity  33 years ago is hardly representative of the vibrant and energetic, modern iranian youth back home...

"Personal business must yield to collective interest."

oktaby

:((

by oktaby on

questions & comments say more about those asking. Framing things in the East/West still as though West is so offensive to your 'culture' that you won't be caught dead in it!  Did you read the explanations to understand the context of these pictures? Did you pay attention to who else is there? men and women? or her half naked shot with a misleading 'poses nude' title was explanation enough? Did Farahani ask anyone to get naked or watch?

what does any of this have to with drugs? More dominant in the hejabed rapist republic along with prostitution. Every time you see a naked woman or a nude picture you recall your mom and sister, and worry about how you would feel if they were naked?  as though they never were in some form? Or imagining it, is the pre-requisite so your emotions are duplicated? and requirement of proof if one does not feel like you do?

What should be questioned here is hypocricy. Not art work that may not be to your taste, or the artist that failed to live to confused sensibilities.

Even if it appears commercial; so what? What isn't these days?

'sad status' are these comments about a top quality individual and art work, after 33 years of Erteja'. Not her participation in a collaboration with a well known artist; and living her life.

Oktaby

Souri

Oh I forgot to add

by Souri on

There are many Iranian actress/models in the West, who took off their clothes before Shifteh! Nothing "revolutionary, nor admiring" in what she did, honeslty.

Souri

...

This is more discriminating to the woman
than "Hijab". I am very much disappointed on Shifteh but she is free to
do whatever she wants for a carrier.
