CBC: Canada has suspended diplomatic relations with Iran and is expelling Iranian diplomats from Canada, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced in a statement today. "Canada has closed its embassy in Iran, effective immediately, and declared personae non gratae all remaining Iranian diplomats in Canada," Baird said in a statement. Those diplomats must leave within five days. "Canada’s position on the regime in Iran is well known. Canada views the Government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today."
The statement cited Iran's support for the Assad regime in Syria and failure to comply with UN resolutions on its nuclear program, and its threats against Israel. The statement also makes reference to Iran's "blatant disregard" of the Vienna Convention that guarantees the protection of diplomatic personnel >>>

by MaryamJoon on Fri Sep 07, 2012 04:50 PM PDTIn Canada the paper will say: "Iranian Human Rights Activist lauds Decision to Close Embassy"
In Iran the paper - under this or any other government - will say: "traitor arrested for assisting foreign lobby and impeding Iranian embassy."

Since you are a nice guy, let me ask you a couple of questions.
Do you have to leave Canada now that the embassy is being closed and all the staff have to leave. And if you manage to stay are you going to get paid by the Regime, or do you need financial help?
Please let me know. We could get a petition started by NIAC to help you guys. I wouldn't want to see your contributions to this site end so quickly.
I am sure that you would have done the same if I was vacationing in Iran and ended up at Rajaei-Shahr!
What I think may happen
by MaryamJoon on Fri Sep 07, 2012 04:40 PM PDTIt's not a "victory" against the Iranian government to take a little red building in Canada and screw over Iranian-IMMIGRANTS for the benefit of Iranian-EXILES and the Jewish lobby.
Though I'm not advocating it, as I pointed out earlier, the Iranian government can confiscate properties of Bahais for cheerleading this effort and use its sale of oil to India to shut down the Bahai Lotus Temple (India arrested a Bahai for espionage last month).
The Iranian government has counter-meausres regarding these diplomatic stunts that only hurt Iranian-IMMIGRANTS for the benefit of Iranian-EXILES and the Jewish lobby. It's an embassy: They issue visas. Don't be surprised if the US mission in Iraq gets shut down in the future: The fools that organize these events pretend that Iran won't respond in kind; and that's how they got the US embassy taken over in '79.
The long run consequences will be that the IRANIAN PEOPLE will NEVER permit investment in the US or Canada again, even if the government of Iran changes. No country will permit the blatant theft of its assets no matter what justification is given, even if it is just a little red brick building in Canada.
If this continues, Iran would be right to permanently close down its embassy in Canada and demand that Iranians that want to retain their Iranian citizenship repatriate with their assets or move to a friendly country and to remove all assets from Canada to put a dent in Canada's economy.
Sanctions and diplomatic measures can work both ways.
Nevertheless, if you are Iranian, I recommend leaving Canada. You're about to relive the experiences of '79.
Iranian Human Rights Activist lauds Decision to Close Embassy
by IranFirst on Fri Sep 07, 2012 04:35 PM PDTUpon hearing Canada had closed its embassy in Tehran, an Iranian human rights activist wanted to pop a bottle of champagne.
"This needed to happen," Shabnam Assadollahi said.
Assadollahi is just one member of the Iranian Canadian community who
has been lobbying the government to do what it just did Friday - cut all
diplomatic ties with Iran.

Great News , as Nazanin Afshin-jam had recommended too
by IranFirst on Fri Sep 07, 2012 03:41 PM PDTMs. Afshin-jam had said to close Terrorist IRI's embassy couple of month ago. As she correctly explained it . IRI was/is using this place to recruit terrorists to serve IRI's interests (nothing to do with Iran and Iranians). 3) Abusing women and children who are the most defenseless victims of violence

Unless and Until ...
by MaryamJoon on Fri Sep 07, 2012 02:59 PM PDTUnless and until Iranian-IMMIGRANTS realize that their interests are different from Iranian-EXILES which include members of the Israeli lobby, the Bahai movement, PMOI, etc., they will continue to suffer. That's what the EXILES want.
Iranian-EXILES don't need an embassy; they aint goin' back ... EVER. Their job is to shill for the highest bidder.
Iranian-IMMIGRANTS do need an embassy - It's of little consequence to the Iranian government not to have a little red building in Canada. They will just go and confiscate some Bahai houses and make up the difference in lost value.

by MaryamJoon on Fri Sep 07, 2012 02:42 PM PDTWho is "we" ... You, Fred, and Universal House of Justice? LOL !
Oh yeah, you think Iranians will be duped to start a "civil war" for a handful o rag-tag exiles?
If you believe that, you have no idea the defensive measures Iranians are getting ready to dish out.
If you are Israeli, just remember you couldn't defeat a small militia in Lebanon. If you are Bahai and pushing "civil war' I'm sure Iran will start making your world smaller with such talk.
And this is why I tell Iranian IMMIGRANTS to distance themselves from Iranian EXILES, the Israeli lobby, and all other mischievous factions that have bad intentions against Iran.
9 out of 10 Iranians would like to see Israel vanish
by MaryamJoon on Fri Sep 07, 2012 02:32 PM PDTa full 95% of Iranians are in favor of scorching Israel if it attacks Iran.
Iran can withstand a nuclear attack (big country and many mountains) ... Israel can't withstand such a counter attack.
During Israel's 2006 war Haifa was fully evacuated from little rockets from Lebanon: Imagine going toe to toe with Iran.
There wouldn't be a Haifa to go back to and Tel Aviv would be little more than an ashtray.
Forget about nukes for a second: Iran has 80 million people. Quantity itself is a type of quality.

Islamists Need to Chill Out
by Mort Gilani on Fri Sep 07, 2012 02:23 PM PDT1. Iran is a sovereign country.
MG: Iran is a country ruled by Islamist ideologues whose mission is NOT to protect the best interest of Iranians, but to advance their shitty ideology.
2. It's political leaders must be chosen by Iranians inside Iran and not by foreign think tanks; foreign governments, or mischievous factions outside of Iran.
MG: Iran will implode sooner or later. We may even have to go through a civil war to get rid of mullahs. Freedom does not come free.
3. The total number of exiles (people that CAN'T go back) plus the total number of Iranian immigrants (people that CAN go back) is tiny compared to the total population of Iran, and political choices must be made from within Iran's sovereign borders.
MG: Iranians don’t have a long history of immigration like Armenians, Poles, Italians, Germans. For its short history, IRI has inflicted the largest population outflow per capita (almost 8% of the population).
4. Western countries have long attempted to exploit Iran. The closure of the Canadian embassy will hurt Iranian immigrants and have no effect on Iranian exiles.
MG: Sane countries base their foreign policy on trade and self-interest, unlike stupid Islamists who are tied to other countries in disadvantageous terms (e.g. Russia, China), or to other pathetic terrorist groups with entangling alliances (e.g. Hezbollah, Hamas).
5. If Iranian immigrants had any sense they would draw a sharp line of distinction between themselves and exile groups, whether militaristic or religious based, and advocate for their rights from an organization that is not already predesigned to be a divide-&-conquer operation like PAAIA, NIAC, PDMI, PMOI, and the other alphabet soup of groups that exist. Primary interests of exiles and immigrants are often far from being the same.
MG: Exiles and immigrants are united in their understanding that the conditions in Islamic Iran were, are, and will always be hellish for as long as Islamists are in power. I give exiles credit for cautioning Iranians inside the country that they had not seen the worst of the regime. Unfortunately, all the warnings fell on deaf Iranian ears in the past few decades and Iran sank deeper and deeper. Iranians now know that they had underestimated the destructive nature of Islam and Islamic rulers in Iran. If one thinks dollar at 2,200 Toman (vs. 7 Toman in Pahlavi era) is bad, I would wait till Iranians rush to buy a dollar for 10,000 Toman.
6. I'm going to start making a bumper sticker in Persian that says "It's the Israeli and Bahai lobby stupid" and hand it out to all my friends.
What else do you need to know?
DON'T INVEST IN CANADA
DON'T INVEST IN ANY COUNTRY WHERE THE JEWISH LOBBY HAS A STRONG FOOTHOLD AND YOU WILL BE FINE.
