Canada closes embassy in Iran, expels Iranian diplomats

Views Iran "the most significant threat to global peace and security"

CBC: Canada has suspended diplomatic relations with Iran and is expelling Iranian diplomats from Canada, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced in a statement today. "Canada has closed its embassy in Iran, effective immediately, and declared personae non gratae all remaining Iranian diplomats in Canada," Baird said in a statement. Those diplomats must leave within five days. "Canada’s position on the regime in Iran is well known. Canada views the Government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today."

The statement cited Iran's support for the Assad regime in Syria and failure to comply with UN resolutions on its nuclear program, and its threats against Israel. The statement also makes reference to Iran's "blatant disregard" of the Vienna Convention that guarantees the protection of diplomatic personnel >>>

How many of the "Iranians" calling on Iran to "implode"

by MaryamJoon on

... defended Iran's borders when the US and Israeli lobby buttered up Saddam to attack Iran?

And profiles with names that exploit "Neda" and words like "Azad" have the audacity to use the internet to call others non-Iranians.  What a joke.

If you look at other websites, Israel is fast falling in public opinion.

Anyone that gambled by staying silent or supporting Israel has lost any chance of returning to Iran: I'm sure of it.  No government would tolerate it.

I have no problems, not an iota of problem with  Jews..........my problem is with Zionism, and Zionists............

I have no problem with our Bahai fellow-citizens as well........my problem is with the leadership of the Universal House of Justice who try to sell their tacit endorsement of the Zionists' savage policy and doctrine under the pretext of Bahi's teaching regarding political disengagement........

And why am I posting this declaration here, mixed with embassy stuff?............I really don't know.....

Tehran e Azad see the 6 points: "Sovereignty" "Exile/Immigrant"

by MaryamJoon on

Tehran e Azad: A single comment like yours is meaningless; here are the 6 points I made.  You would have trouble filling the bleachers at a high school softball game with Iranians that share that view.

1.  Iran is a sovereign country.

2.  It's political leaders must be chosen by Iranians inside Iran and not by foreign think tanks; foreign governments, or mischievous factions outside of Iran.

3.  The total number of exiles (people that CAN'T go back) plus the total number of Iranian immigrants (people that CAN go back) is tiny compared to the total population of Iran, and political choices must be made from within Iran's sovereign borders.

4.  Western countries have long attempted to exploit Iran.  The closure of the Canadian embassy will hurt Iranian immigrants and have no effect on Iranian exiles.

5.  If Iranian immigrants had any sense they would draw a sharp line of distinction between themselves and exile groups, whether militaristic or religious based, and advocate for their rights from an organization that is not already predesigned to be a divide-&-conquer operation like PAAIA, NIAC, PDMI, PMOI, and the other alphabet soup of groups that exist.  Primary interests of exiles and immigrants are often far from being the same.

6.  I'm going to start making a bumper sticker in Persian that says "It's the Israeli and Bahai lobby stupid" and hand it out to all my friends.

What else do you need to know?

DON'T INVEST IN CANADA

DON'T INVEST IN ANY COUNTRY WHERE THE JEWISH LOBBY HAS A STRONG FOOTHOLD AND YOU WILL BE FINE.

Why defending the Israeli regime is so important.

by MeyBokhor_Manbarbesuzan on

Scientists often compare the aphids (plant lice) to cattle, with the ants acting as protectors and "ranchers."
What aphids have that ants want is something called honeydew, a sweet substance containing surplus sugar from the aphid's diet that the aphid excretes through its anus. In return, ants protect aphid eggs during the winter and carry the newly hatched aphids to new host plants. The aphids feed on the leaves, and the ants receive a supply of honeydew.

Oh zzzz.... i am sorry, were you done with you speech?

Who said anything about you? but now that you have decided to get yourself involved intentionally to create havoc , as you usually do on this site:

Perhaps it takes an ungrateful one, such as yourself, who would not appreciate the fact that it is only in those. super-racist, super-state and all those manufactured out of behind names, that you and those who think and talk like you do, have the freedom to write and piss on everything and everyone and be as adamant in their position as they want to be.

All you are looking for is a pathetic excuse and guess 911 was right there and you just grabbed onto it and held on tight.

I lived there for at least 11 years since 911 kido and did not see or experince even a shred of BS that u are propagating here. So go sell your brand of Criticism! where you can find some who buy it. So you can save your absolutely irrelevant "in facts" to your own self and followers.

The Reality Check!

by Faramarz on

On days like this you can easily figure out who is who on this site!

While the majority of the Iranians are happy about the closure of the "Embassy" that is being used to funnel the Iranian treasures into the Canadian banks and intimidate the Iranian opposition, you also get the unhappy responses of the Regimis, the Demonic Verses of the Islamists, the miserable “Gom-Rah-Tudeh” and “Blame everything on the Jews, Let’s support the Regime” crowd

All I can say to you people is, call Dr. Holakouei and get help. Life is being wasted on you! You are going to die a lonely and angry person.

Frashogar

Which freedoms would that be, DM?

by Frashogar on

911 squashed all of those. The entire West is one big totalitarian (inter)national security surveillance entity - i.e. a Fascist super-state - where all freedoms have been stripped down to nothing, not unlike the very states whose regimes it wishes to change. In fact what the West has become since 911 is nothing short of National Socialist Germany circa 1930s. The shameless ones are ones like your good self who continue to defend this charade.

The US and Canada will screw all Iranians ... of that I'm sure

by MaryamJoon on

It's the collective weak backbone to stand up to the Jewish lobby.

The lack of an embassy just screws over Iranians in Canada - not the government of Iran.

Most Iranians in Canada and the US will be assimilated in about 50 years anyway.

Screw Canada ... it's nothing.  Never spent money there ... don't ever intend to.

Iranians you made a mistake moving there: You made a mistake not standing up to the political lobby of Israel and the Bahais.

Thank You Canada!

by Mort Gilani on

After reading this news, I remembered the day when I heard Islamist students in the payroll of IRI government had beaten Iranian refugees in the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, in Qods day -circa 1995.  I was enraged at the audacity of Islamist thugs acting as if Vancouver was QOM.  But, Iranians were so clueless at the time that nobody reported Hezbollahs’ assault and the event went pretty much unnoticed.

Thank you beautiful Nazanin for being a noble voice for refugees
inside and outside Iran.

It's amuzing to watch the reaction of anti-semites and radical militant islamists, and fake anti-war islamist/marxists  regulars on this site...

I hope the next action of Canadian government would be to close all the islamic centers operated by IRI in canada and deporting all the islamists, hezbollahi, toudehi, fake anti-war agents on their soil.

Bravo Canada!
