سهراب میگفت که با می یک استاد زیبای چینی که برای تدریس مهندسی استخدام شده بود در دانشکده آشنا شده است. وی در رشته مهندسی مکانیک درجه دکتری داشت و در کشور خودشان در سطح دکتری و فوق لیسانس تدریس میکرد.
