بيهوده نبوده که ما، قبل از حمله ی اعراب، در هر ماهی عيدی داشتيم (آن چنان که معادل واژه های «جشنواره» و «فستيوال» در زبان عربی «مهرجان» است که برگرفته ای از «مهرگان» ما است). شايد ما ايرانی ها راهی پيدا کرده بوديم تا در جهان سراسر تبعيضی که دور و برمان بود، جهان بی دموکراسی و حقوق بشر و آزادی، جهان جنگ های طولانی مدت و رنج های هنوز التيام نيافته ی بشری، برای حداقل چند روز شادمانی در ماه بهانه ای داشته باشيم>>>
