THE DEVIL WE KNOW: Dealing With The New Iranian Superpower

Former CIA Operative (1976-1997) Robert Baer talked about his book, "THE DEVIL WE KNOW: Dealing With The New Iranian Superpower." In the book he explored the gap of information between what is going on in Iran and what Americans know.

Mr. Baer visited Iran to interview suicide bombers, a grand ayatollah, the chief of staff of Iran's military forces and the chief of Hezbollah.

Overall, a fascinating read. Hope you enjoy this presentation:

As Cat Stevens, Yusuf sold over 60 million albums worldwide. At the height of his fame, he converted to Islam, adopted his Muslim name and retired from the music world.

He has since devoted himself to educational and philanthropic causes in the Muslim community. Copper Canyon Press, a Seattle area poetry publishing firm, started out as a small enterprise where employees bound books by hand and sold them out of their cars.
A Conversation with 'ADONIS'

Ali Ahmad Said Asbar (Arabic: علي أحمد سعيد إسبر) (born 1930), also known by the pseudonym Adonis or Adunis (Arabic: أدونيس), is a Syrian poet and essayist who has made his career largely in Lebanon and France. He has written more than twenty books in his native Arabic.

Adonis is a pioneer of modern Arabic poetry. He is often seen as a rebel, an iconoclast who follows his own rules.

A Cool, Sober Analysis of The Current Economic Crisis

Last night, Charlie Rose interviewed the former Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Paul Volcker, regarding the current Economic Crisis. Paul Volcker served as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve from 1979 to 1987.

For those who are not familiar with him, he is one of the most respected figures in the field of finance and economy in the U.S.

I recommend this interview to everyone. Hope you find it interesting:

In the past two weeks, this interview has perhaps shed more light on the Crisis that U.S. is in right now, and has provided a solid way forward on how to solve the problem.

Last night, during the First Presidential Debate, John McCain and Barack Obama were asked by the Moderator, Jim Lehrer, to express their views and approaches towards Iran.

This is their responses:

Condoleezza Rice on Iran, Israel, etc.

Sean Hannity of Fox News interviews Condoleezza Rice on Iran, Israel, and a number of other subjects.

For those who are not familiar with Sean Hannity, he is considered by many to be on the fringe of the right-wing broadcasters in U.S today. Condoleeza Rice is considered by many in the Diplomatic Corp to be perhaps the most ineffective Secretary of State in almost 30 years.

Hope you find this interview interesting:

MAHMOUD on Larry King

Larry King of CNN interviews Ahmadinejad after his speech at the Annual General Assembly meeting at the U.N.

They cover a lot of subjects including the controversial comments such as wiping Israel off the face of the earth; denying the Holocaust; no gays in Iran; etc.

Quite entertaining - Hope you enjoy it:

Bill Moyers sits down with former Nixon White House strategist and political and economic critic Kevin Phillips, whose latest book BAD MONEY: Reckless Finance, Failed Politics, And The Global Crisis Of American Capitalism explores the role that the crumbling financial sector played in the now-fragile American economy.
