I have no idea what type of news makes it to front page

of iranian.com.    But the news of arrest of a student activist who articulates some of the most basic demands of millions of Iranians, in a few minutes video, and does it so concisely, rationally and with simplicity that can be understood by anyone,  and then pays with a 10 year sentence, would certainly seem worthy of a prominent coverage.    This is the least that can be done to let her voice be heard.

I pray so, also for all the other people in prison like Tavakoli, etc. I also am so sad about those that are of the age that will never leave prison (they are too old). Feel so helpless and depressed.

I give you good news: There will not be 9 more years of IRR. Therefore she is not going to spent 9 years in the IRR jail. When the Mullah go, she will be released. After her release she will be treated like the hero that she really is. That is not going to take 9 years: mark my words.

I can not believe she is saying what she is saying in Iran of IRR.  Who says we don't have leaders in Iran.  Here is one!

I posted a news story about her yesterday. How mean and unjust IRI are. I am so sad that she will spend her young life in prison - what a waste of a talented human being and a brave woman who should be recognised as a role model for modern Iranian women. I feel so sad and angry.

Actually it is a sentence of 9 ½ years in prison: six months for insulting the president, two years for insulting the Leader, five years for anti-state and anti-national security actions, and two years, previously suspended, for organizing a gathering in June 2006.

brave, strong, and noble.

every phrase opened with 'we want'. a deep innate desire, spoken with tact, restraint and logic, but creating sharp pathos in the hearer. without a single manipulation or rhetorical device. she didn't need it, her message is so correct.

this is a must for every smug frat member, or cafe sitting student on the make, not knowing how privileged they are.

even for more politically aware students, who don't make the step from passive awareness to engagement and constructive action.

i will tell my students (even though we're not supposed to engage them in politics). my students should not display open support on the international arena, it is counterproductive and even endangering to these young iranians in the current climate; but maybe my students can take these lessons and apply them to issues closer to home.

i am humbled and filled with respect.

Yet another
