Are Israel’s actions justified to protect her citizens?

Many may have opinions and strong feelings towards existence of Israel and what has happened in the past 60+ years. But, one fact remains and that’s the legitimate formation of the state of Israel. One might argue post 67 war and some land issues, but, that remains to be the subject of the never ending peace process. In the mean time Israel has resorted to some extreme measures to protect her citizens. Such extremes, (in the eyes of many), has been viewed as implementing apartheid and inhumane.

So, now what????

Been away for a very long while (I’m sorry), but I could not resist the urge to post this one.

I’m sorry if this disappoints some but hope it to be constructive in creating some motion in the right direction. So, here we go…..

The regime is suffocating any breath of freedom, any movement towards separation of religion from state, any advocacy for human right (be it speech or system of belief, or….). What are we supposed to do?

Is a secular democracy. Who do I need to go to, to get it? I don’t care about sanctions or war, I hate the sight of blood, all I want is a secular democracy. How can I get it? If I have to give my life so that my kids will have it, here it is, take it, its all yours.

Would someone here please explain to me what is an “airtight” sanction? I have read so many posts from liberals, communists and extreme left on this site. They say it will back-stab our own nation, the people we are counting on to help remove IRI. Where is the back-stabbing? What kind of sanctions are we talking about?

Rather than commenting on different blogs about certain subjects and responding to individual posts, I decided to post this blog to let others know my opinions and line of thinking with regard to those subjects. Hopefully this will stop name calling and questioning my loyalties, etc…I realize that I don’t have to justify my opinions but I choose to do so out of candor.

First and foremost is the issue of support of US or any outside force for the opposition groups in Iran.

There is not virtually a single blog or news post on this site that does not have the word “Israel” in it. Why?. Why everyone around this community has such a strong opinion (positive or negative) about this particular state?

I guess many debates will be settled if the REALITY of Israel’s existence is accepted. True, I’m a Jew, but my thoughts and opinions about this particular subject are entirely independent of my religion, I promise.

what is green?

Could someone pleas eexplain to me what is “green”? I may be totally ignorant and truly stupid. What I have gathered so far is that the green movement is an uprising against IRI. However, this does not say much about what the core agenda of this movement is?. If opposition to IRI is the only driver without a common goal for how our nation should be governed, then we are traveling the same road we did 30 years ago. It will be disastrous (as we have witnessed).

There is no question that Jews have been persecuted against throughout the history. Whether it’s been their own fault or not is not the subject of my post. All I want to find out is what’s so wrong for a group that has been discriminated against for centuries and centuries to have a place that gives them the freedom of being who they are? Muslims have their own lands, Christians have their own safe haven, Buddhists know where they are in majority, and Hindus have their homes. Then, why is it so wrong for Jews to have a haven?

This site has recently been filled in one form or another with blogs and news related to what is happening in Gaza. They all talk about shame this, shame that, boycott this, boycott that, racists, murderers, victims, terrorists, fascists, Zionists, slaughter,….and of course none of these logical and/or emotional outbursts have any impact on the fact on the ground. It is just an expression of opinion, which is always respectable. But, where is a sensible debate over, what does it take to bring about a long lasting peace?. A debate over idealism versus realism.
