Open letter to Ulmann

Dear Jeff,

Forgive me if I pass on the protocol of calling you "Dr." based on the crass and naively ignorant comments on your website about Iran, the true state of Israel, and the nature of the world as you see it, I really can't respect your technical accomplishments either. As boring and irrelevant as they might be.

So that we are clear, I have to say I think you are in idiot. Regardless of what you say, wear, drive, or think, I can still think you to be a fool if I wish. And Oh how I do wish that!

Arab-Islam? Have Faith!

Islam is the world's most modern and complete and hopefully final religion, that unfortunately has some really inappropriate and invalid ideas still left in it. It originated in Arabia, and it is written in Arabic, hence Arab Islam. Valid label, I would hope you agree.

NIAC Stop trying to Stop the War, Stop the Nukes Instead!!!

Trying to stop America and Israel from attacking Iran is impossible as long as you defend Iran's right to have a nuke.

The US and Israel have more than clearly laid out what Iran must do to prevent an attack. The fact that they haven't attacked yet is the ongoing miracle. It is also proof that there is a God and that he is largely unjust and loves to torture mankind. (Damn You Adam and Eve!!!)

Iran does not need nukes.

Iran does not even need a nuclear power plant.
Pakestan: Proof having a Bomb is Sheer Stupidity!

As sad as it is to say, the ongoing flood disaster in Pakestan is the best proof that acquiring a bomb is utterly stupid, and a huge waste of precious resources of a country struggling to become barely developed.

I wonder what the 20 million people who have been killed and displaced by the rising flood waters of the Indus river, think about their government's choice?

What's Your Position?

Opinion it seems, is the secret word for not having any clear principle. Opinions run rampant here, this being a prime example of the phenomenon that this site has become over the past 15 years.

Rarely is anything clear among the myriad of ideas, comments, plans, critiques, or suggestions displayed page after page, screen after screen.

Although I have tried with this persona to be clear, forthright and firm in my beliefs, I too am often misdirected always by emotion and steered into the realm of opining on things that are not all that complicated.

Help me write a story. Add up to 100 words and pass it on...

Mohsen turned the corner and ran down the small alley just off the main boulevard. His heart was pounding so hard he could feel the reeb reeb reeb in his temples. Sweat ran down his left eye, trickled down his tall nose, dripping off the end of it. He wiped the sweat off his nose with the back of his dirt covered hurting hand. His knuckles had been scraped when he had fallen trying to get away. That was when he saw the dark red color, it wasn't sweat, it was blood! He looked up just in time to see

Top 10 List: Something About Amiri...

I think we've all seen enough Bourne Identity films by now to know that whenever a spy is caught or released, there is a whole lotta quid pro quo going on. Here's my Top 10 reasons Amiri may have decided to go back: (ranked in all likelihood that Hollywood would be interested in the script)

1- Amiri's Family has been targeted and threatened by the IRI. (This one isn't supposed to be funny, so I thought I'd get it out of the way now)

Only 3 Options for Iranians

A recent discussion led me to consider that in fact today, given the state of affairs vis-vis freedom and the relative lack of it in Iran, we as Iranians really only have 3 options.

As an Iranian today, we are infamous fence riders, unwilling to pick our position on anything, choosing to remain pridefully irrelevant as a people when faced with life's difficult decisions. I mean look, here we are talking incessantly about Iran without doing anything about it. I'm as guilty as the next. I don't even dare unmask myself. I mean, who do I think I am, HODER?

How to Run a Protest Movement

Running a protest movement, especially one in which you are trying to change an entire government and society is difficult work. All the more reason why planning and preparation is an absolute must for any kind of civil disobedience campaign to work. The Iranian Green Movement has clearly not benefited from any kind of commonly used organizational methods, with the result to show for it.

Definition of Oxymoron: The Green Movement

Coming up on this 1st anniversary of the almost forgotten stolen election, the green movement is all but a fond flicker. Despite repeated attempts to re-boot a crashed program that people thought that the Green movement was, nothing but nothing and no sign of life or a plan exists in the grassy realm of whoever is in charge of it. Whatever "it" is, or more aptly, was.

Recently a friend of mine attending a June event, was faced with a comment about the latest Sex and the City movie. The comment was that apparently according to this person's read in the NYTimes, the Moslem world was up in arms over the portrayal of scantily clad women in the film while on an imagined vacation in "Arabia". The comment made was by a Jewish lady in the group, who proceeded to go on about Iran next.
