Rise of anti-Semitism, sure outcome

The only certain result of Israeli savage assault on Gaza Strip would be the rise of anti-Semitism around the world. With Israel, and many Zionists working hard to equate Zionism with Judaism, and defending Israeli crimes as that of a Jewish only state representing Jewish values, the savagery of Israeli state unfortunately would be translated around the world with savagery of the Jews. It would make Jews and Jewish centers around the world less safe. This would be the sole certain outcome of the Gaza assault, similar to what happened in the war of Lebanon. What other outcomes might be there? Let's see:

Ehud Barak might be dreaming about a personal boost in internal Israeli politics by the Gaza mayhem, but if the Israeli death increases, even he would lose on his dream. Israel itself would lose big by any criterion which defines an Israeli  "victory." For Hamas, the mere survival will clearly be victory, and survive it will! Just like Hezbollah did and got stronger in Lebanon.

Israel can hit hundreds of targets in Gaza, can kill hundreds of women and children in Gaza in the name of killing "Hamas," but Israel will not be able to destroy either Hamas or its rocket firing capabilities. They will spring right back! And, that is the single criterion that would define an Israeli defeat. Other outcomes of this vicious assault:

--Rise of anti-Semitism throughout the world as people who identify Zionism with Judaism (thanks to Israeli propaganda) will resent Israeli atrocities,

--The more widespread hatred of the US around the world since it blocked again a cease fire similar to its futile blocking of a cease fire in Lebanon war,

--the weakening of pro-Israel groups in the US in their futile attempt at defending Israeli crimes as "self-defense" at the expense of America's image around the world,

.....in short  the world got one historical step closer to the inevitable demise of the criminal and illegitimate State of Israel. Pathetic Israeli  genocide won't be able to defy its historical destiny for long, no matter how many innocent it kills and calls it, "the only language they understand."

cute names...

by IRANdokht on

or even romantic names: like "Operation Summer Rain" on Lebanon a couple of years ago...

How about making those nasty bombs look exactly like the packages of food that are distributed to the victims in Iraq?

No Shame whatsoever!

Yes Jaleho jan, they have been using these White Phosphorus bomb, instead of the accepted way which is just for the abundant white smoke, they are blowing them up in the air and make the phosphorus rain down on populated area. Each drop burns a whole through the body of the victim all the way through... it's sickening!

I really don't care which side it is that is killing people, using chemical weapons and playing tricks on little children. It doesn't make a bit of a difference to me what nationality they are or what they worship: I just want them to STOP murdering innocent people! I've been writing letters, reading updates, looking at live feeds and getting all choked up for a long time now, I can't imagine how these poor people must be feeling carrying their kids corpses...

I do condemn the killing of women and children

We should all wake up to Israeli war crime. We should write our congress men/women and try to stop the slaughter.

That said, I don't agree with Israeli action

Israel should be more careful with its bombing. There are some women and children. But you supporters of IRI don't get it.

jaleho and passages from the old testament

by Mehdi Mazloom on

Precisely that. the Old testament DOES have passages like, rape, murder and yes crime against young girl. Believe me, I read plenty of that garbage in it original language of Hebrew.

THE DIFFERENCE however between this book, and the Quran is, Jews have condemned these passengers (rape, murder, and robery) long long time ago. In fact many of those tenats have been outright outlawed in Israel and throughout the Judea-Christian societies.

Every day you could watch secular scholars in Israel, engage in an open and intelligent polemic with their religious counterparts. Discussing the merits of passages in the Tanakh (Old testament),  the Talmud, and Halakha. Their pupose and place in modern times.

At the end of the conversation, no one is threatened for blasphemy, and no one is derided for his religious belief in creationism. All manage to live in peace and harmony - agree to disagree.

That is not the case throughout the Islamic world. Dare to raise the prospect that maybe, just maybe the Quran could not have been written by Allah. rather by normal humans, and you are history.

Dare to suggest that 53 year old marrying a 6 year old child and "consummating" (closing the deal) on her 9th birthday is not an appropriate act for modern day societies.

Dare to bring up the issue of human freedom of expression, and you are history.

That is the fundemetals differences between these two groups. The result of which, we all see today. While Judea-0christian have manged to keep their religious leaders on a short leash of influence on the population. The innocent Muslisms are still forced to keep their feet deep in the murkey mud of human stagnation for past 1300 years.

Thanks Irandokht

by Jaleho on

for the info. I did not know that White Phosphorus has been used in Gaza.

I remeber reading at one time that Americans have used it in Iraq with the euphemism of "Willie Pete," you know, something which sounds more innocents than chemical incendiary weapon, like cute Winnie the Pooh maybe! The same way that "rendition extra-ordinaire" has an artistic connotation rather than CIA torture.

I wonder if American use of it has made it kosher for others to violate terms of Geneva Convention in such a flagrant manner?!

Cannot get any more racist

MRX1 says,

"The hatred is in your blood."

Can a statement get any more racist than that? Just imagine if someone had said, "hatred of Muslims is in Jews' blood." Every pro-Israel, Zionist, anti-Iran, anti-Muslim would have jumped on that poor soul.

And this from people who consider themselves civilized, sophisticated, democracy loving, enlightened.

Just a short note:

The legal age for girls getting married in Iran was raised to 13 through the efforts of Shirin Ebadi. Not that it is ideal, but there has been some progress. Shirin and her group wanted 18, the ultra-reactionaries wanted to keep it at 9.

White Phosphorus: Israel fires artillery shells into Gaza

Israel is using White Phosphorus bombs in Gaza strikes

Previously used in by Israel in Lebanon:

Israel admits phosphorus bombing

Despite the 1980’s Geneva Convention, the Israeli army is using the White Phosphorus bombs in the very congested parts of Gaza strip.

For those who are not familiar with this chemical:

When exposed to air, it spontaneously ignites and is oxidized rapidly to phosphorus pentoxide. Such heat is produced by this reaction that the element bursts into a yellow flame and produces a dense white smoke. Phosphorus also becomes luminous in the dark, and this property is conveyed to "tracer bullets." This chemical reaction continues until either all the material is consumed or the element is deprived of oxygen. Up to 15 percent of the WP remains within the charred wedge and can reignite if the felt is crushed and the unburned WP is exposed to the atmosphere.

White phosphorus results in painful chemical burn injuries.
The resultant burn typically appears as a necrotic area with a yellowish color and characteristic garliclike odor. White phosphorus is highly lipid soluble and as such, is believed to have rapid dermal penetration once particles are embedded under the skin. Because of its enhanced lipid solubility, many have believed that these injuries result in delayed wound healing. This has not been well studied; therefore, all that can be stated is that white phosphorus burns represent a small subsegment of chemical burns, all of which typically result in delayed wound healing.

Incandescent particles of WP may produce extensive burns.
Phosphorus burns on the skin are deep and painful; a firm eschar is produced and is surrounded by vesiculation. The burns usually are multiple, deep, and variable in size. The solid in the eye produces severe injury. The particles continue to burn unless deprived of atmospheric oxygen. Contact with these particles can cause local burns. These weapons are particularly nasty because white phosphorus continues to burn until it disappears. If service members are hit by pieces of white phosphorus, it could burn right down to the bone. Burns usually are limited to areas of exposed skin (upper extremities, face). Burns frequently are second and third degree because of the rapid ignition and highly lipophilic properties of white phosphorus.

Thank you shekar

by Jaleho on

for providing the link to Zion's blog. It is precisely that type of argument in support of Israeli atrocities, and equating it with Judaism as Zion does, which I was referring to as elevating anti-Semitism.

Zion can repeat that argument ad nauseam, but I wonder why she fails to understand that she can not rebuke the views of 6 billion around the world who are holding anti-Israeli demonstrations, as irrelevant. And, I don't mean who at the present has power in the UN to leave Israeli dirty hands open for mayhem. I am talking about sentiment of people around the world who are sick of Israel.

The other point I was talking about is really the futility of the affair itself. Here's a good article from Christian Science Monitor, on the notion of "victory" in this case:

"But what victory means for each side still remains vague. The Israeli military says the ground offensive is aimed at eliminating militant rocket-launching sites, destroying weapon caches, and pursuing fighters hiding in the crowded coastal strip.

Will it be satisfied if the militants stop firing rockets or if it destroys the hundreds of tunnels to Egypt that make up Hamas's supply line? Some experts say Israel wants to force a more extensive cease-fire with Hamas, compel the creation of an international peacekeeping force in the coastal strip, or destroy the Islamist group altogether.

For Hamas, survival might be victory. It will be lauded across the Arab world if it can hold out against the region's strongest military.

"One of the most important things in this conflict between state and nonstate actors is what is the meaning of victory?" says Eitan Azani, a former Israeli Defense Forces colonel and a deputy director at the Institute for Counter Terrorism at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya. "A lot of people from [Hamas] dying? A collapse? Or most of the operational capability destroyed? This is up for debate. We are in a very complicated situation."

In the 2006 Lebanon war, the Shiite militant group Hezbollah showed the world it could not only survive Israel's superior firepower but that it could confront them on the battlefield. Israel withdrew from the 34-day war with Hezbollah claiming a "divine victory."

Hate is a two-way street

by Shekar on

Though I disagree with you about the legitimacy of Israel (I believe that the state of Israel is legitimate and must be recognized by the rest of the world as a prerequisite to worldwide peace, concurrent with the establishment and worldwide recognition of a Palestinian state), I too am fearful of the impact of this injustice on the world.

I agree that some would unfairly hate all Jews for these actions.  However, the hate will not be a one-way street, directed toward Jews alone.  Some people and politicians will also seize this opportunity to speak their inflammatory and racist language toward all Muslims and peoples of the Middle East, demonizing and dehumanizing them.  Already we have had such hate toward Iranians by our in-house expert (not!) on all matters Jewish and Zionist who continues to be rude to Iranians on the site, calling them a "mob without an argument" when they vehemently oppose her weak arguments used to justify attacks on Gaza.  She refers to Iranians' active and emotional participation in discussions in defense of humanity as "inevitable noise" which must be ignored!

This same expert also acts like Iranians have only just come to know Jews and Judaism, needing her help in understanding, appreciating, and respecting Jews!  The condescending tone and language has been nauseating, to say the least.  Instead of reading what true Iranians are saying about tolerance, respect, and love for humanity, the age old tradition of Iran, she keeps trying to teach us lessons and divide us in the process.  Her supporters are all (non iranian?) anonymous fish who sing her praises, as no true Iranian would ever support this language and conduct of hate.  All the known thinkers and writers of the site have already tried arguing with her and all of them have decided in the end to ignore her.

Looking forward to following the discussion, I thank you.

He often tends to buzz like an irrelevant fly with his irrelavent nonsense to divert attention from the subject at hand. In fact, I once bothered to answer him in another blog:

See page 2 of comments where he repeats his worthless platitudes:

I actually took it lightly, but he really has a wrong self-image I guess, and is best ignored:

Anonymous Observer's request

by Jaleho on

Completely unrelated to anything we're talking about, Anonymous Observer pulls out an anecdote about Aisha from Sahih Bukhari and then feels smart by asking me:

"Now, what kind of sick pervert would take a child off of a swing to
have sex with her?  Justify this please with your Zionist mumbo, jumbo."

He wants me to justify his nonsense with some Zionist mumbo jumbo! This one time I will oblige, since he's too deranged and funny :-)

Here is from Torah, NUMBERS, CH 31, read from 1-18 :

Moses and HaShem (this fellow is the Jewish God in case you don't know, he's a very interesting guy) are chatting about what to do with "little girls of  Midian":

//www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Bible/...

9 And the children of Israel took captive the women of Midian
and their little ones
; and all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their
goods, they took for a prey.

10 And all their cities in the places wherein they dwelt, and
all their encampments, they burnt with fire.

11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of man
and of beast.

12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the
spoil, unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the
children of Israel, unto the camp, unto the plains of Moab, which are by the
Jordan at Jericho.

13 And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of
the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, the
captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of
the war.

15 And Moses said unto them: 'Have ye saved all the women
alive?

16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the
counsel of Balaam, to revolt so as to break faith with HaShem in the matter of
Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of HaShem.

17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and
kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18 But all the women children, that have not known man by
lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Is that good enough Zionist Mumbo Jumbo for you, directly from Torah?

Even if Isreal did nothing, and had half of it's population dead from Hamas and islamic jihad bombings, you islamo facists won't like them one bit!!!!
it's simple: You guys don't like jews and state of Isreal period.why beat around the bush? doorogh chera?

you can try to mask your hatered by using words like zionism verses jewedisim but it does not work. The hatered is in your blood! you inheritaed it from Mohammad and then mulitplied it with Khomeini. you guys don't even like Iran, your own country which is why you turn a blind eye to all the killings done for the past thirty years over there. Now you worry about rise of anti-sematism, oh how sweet of you!

You don't have to post under "Anonymous434343"....you can use your registered name....I won't mind...

Actually, this time, your lame attempt to escapegoat the B.S. that is the IRI by blaming someone else and diverting attention (it's usually by talking about "Zionists") can be easily debunked.  The quote is not from his infamous Resaleh.  It is from

"Tahrirolvasyleh", fourth volume, Darol Elm, Gom, Iran, published in 1990:

How can the "MKO" be responsible for spreading something in 1983 when it was published in 1990?

And....yeah....Khomeini wanted girls to get married after puberty.  That is why he was even fighting the law for establishing a legal marriage age of 9...., which is the law today in Iran regardless of whether or not the child has reached puberty....he wanted no legal age....Go tell these to someone who doesn't know.

That line you claim is from Imam Khomeini's resaleh is a fabrication created by the MKO in 1983 in order to demonize Imam Khomeini.

It is NOT in his original or subsequent Resaleh's. According to all Marjas, doing anything with a child is haraam.

You cannot even marry them until a person reaches the age of puberty and maturity. So how could you touch a child without being married to it? It is not even RATIONAL for you to claim a marja would say that.

But even if it was irrational, you can view the Resaleh itself and see it's not there. It is only on the fabricated version that is spread throughout the internet by Iranian exiles.

by Anonymous Observer on

Nice to see you back.  You went into hiding after I aksed you a question about your beloved leader Imam Khomeini.  Forget about Gaza for a minute.  Can you please answer the question that I posed to you a couple of weeks ago.  After all, Khomeini's teachings impact Iranian lives much more than the Arab-Israeli conflic.  Here  is the question again:

can you please justify the following instructions on sodomizing an infant by your Imam Khomeini...you know Khomeini...the guy who thought you all to be Israel bashers...

"A man can have sexual pleasure from a child as young as a baby. However he should not penetrate, sodomizing the child is OK. If the man penetrates and damages the child then he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl, however does not count as one of his four permanent wives. The man will not be eligible to marry the girls sister."
